Core Activities

Our work is centered around three main pillars:

1. Professional Performances: CHIKIRI & The School of TAIKO
We bring the vibrant energy of Taiko to over 100,000 people annually. Notable appearances include the Seattle Symphony’s Celebrate Asia, Sakura-Con, the Cherry Blossom Festival, Japan Fair, and halftime shows for the Seattle Storm and UW Huskies.

2. Education & Community: The School of TAIKO
We offer Taiko classes for all levels—from absolute beginners to aspiring professionals. Currently, over 80 students enjoy our lessons and performance opportunities. We also provide school assemblies, cultural workshops, and fundraising events designed to foster global understanding through the sounds of Japan.

3. Bellevue World TAIKO Festival
Launched in 2014, this flagship festival features world-class guest performers. Recognized and awarded by the City of Bellevue Arts Commission, ArtsWA, and 4Culture, the festival also serves a philanthropic mission, donating Taiko equipment and programs to disaster-affected areas and underserved schools.
